MEMPHIS!

 

hey everyone!!!

So if you follow me on twitter, you know that yesterday I went to NYC for the day! My mom helps organize a trip every year for some students of her college and this is the 3rd time I've gone on this trip! We went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and after that we went to the Shubert Theatre on 43rd Street and we went to go see Memphis, which has now become one of my favorite musicals! The story behind it and the musical numbers were FANTASTIC! I don't want to reveal too much about it, so I'll just say its about how music brings two people together, as well as those around them in the 1950s. If you live near NYC like I do, then you should definitely go see it! :)

There was a moment in the show where I realized one thing: I cannot give up my dancing. There were these dancers performing on stage and they were amazing! They were so perfect with their movements and so into it, I was mesmerized. It made me realize why I love dancing so much.  I dance because when I do, all the bad things in life go away and I'm happy because I'm doing what I love.  I've been a dancer since I was 4 years old, it's something that I cannot part from, without that in my life, I wouldn't be me.

My Top Five Favorites!

Hey everyone! A lot of people know that ihave a very eccentric taste in music :) Lately, there have been A LOT of songs that I've been loving! There's too many to list, so I'm keeping this simple and listing my Top 5! So here we go :)

5. Last Friday Night by Katy Perry

I'm LOVING this song at the moment. Katy Perry is an awesome singer, and all her songs are fantastic. This song just makes me feel happy, and it's one of those songs that teenage girls will sing along to in the car and will dance to if it plays at a dance or party...overall, it's just a happy song! :)

4. Who Says by Selena Gomez

When ifirst heard this song, ifell in love with it! This is another song that's great to sing along to. It's one of those inspirational songs that can just cheer you up in a heartbeat. Not only that, but ilove the message behind it. To me, that song is all about loving yourself, and it's so inspiring and uplifting to me.

3. Till the World Ends by Britney Spears

Ever since iwas little, I've always been a huge Britney Spears fan. I had dolls, her CDs, imean I was beyond obsessed (haha), ifirst heard this song and instantly ithought of clubbing. This is the type of song iwould listen to while doing my makeup to get ready for a night out. And not only that, it's catchy and good to dance to <3

 2. Super Bass by Nicki Minaj


You don't need to be a Nicki Minaj fan to like this song! It's so freaking catchy!!!! I can't resist rapping the first verse. Selena Gomez did it and so did Taylor Swift! ilove Nicki Minaj's music, and this is one of my favorite songs of hers!

1. Copy, Paste by Diggy Simmons

I can't begin to explain how much ilove Diggy Simmons! I've been a supporter of his for the longest time and I'm never gonna stop! His music is amazing and he never ceases to make me and all of his Jetsetters proud :) Currently he's on the Closer To My Dreams Tour with a bunch of other up and coming artists, so if he's in your city, go get tickets!!!!

hey young world!

So for all of my readers, you're probably wondering where I've been (well maybe you're not, but whatever)

I've decided to change the direction of this blog. I love fashion and a dream of mine is to be in fashion as a career. What better way to express my love than to have a fashion blog! I'M BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK ^_^

WHATS GOOD!!!!!

alright, ijust had to get that out of the way. you're probably wondering where i've been the last few months. Well what happened was that my laptop charger was so frayed (even after my dad fixed it once before), that my laptop died and it was about a month before icould get a new one...and then after that the internet got messed up so it delayed me posting again for who knows how long, but now i'm back and ready to take on the blogging world!!! not only that, but it delayed me from posting new youtube videos (iwill post one soon!!!)

so what's been going on in my life!! hmm lemme think...well i'm finally 17!! yes you heard that right, 17!! my birthday was on November 9th, and now ican go see R-rated movies by my self. HUZZAH!!!! (not that ididnt do that before...lmfao)...i'm also dancing again this year...but the dances kinda suck because they're really slow...senior year is really good so far, with the exception of finishing my first marking period with a 74 in AP Psychology (should've taken Psych/Soc), But its the new marking period, and i'm working hard!


i'm really excited, because thanksgiving is coming up, but it's also a bummer because my uncle died in july so he's not gonna be here :/ next week is such a pointless week of school...ihave 2 full days, and then wednesday is a half-day (POINTLESS!!!)...but whatevs, iget to pig out with my family...GOOD SHIT!!! :)

well, i'm gonna go do some studying, cuz ihave this stupid paper to write...i'll write again soon :)

another manic monday

good morning, or good evening depending on what you consider being awake at 3:02 am, iknow it's late, but ijust felt like posting a new blog, even though ijust posted a new blog 5days ago about my passion, which if you haven't read, is dancing, but that's not what my blog is about today...i'm just sort of, going over my weekend, and just pointing out some of the highlights of what idid, and some things i'm really excited and happy about.

so, friday was basically wasted, because ihad injured my back on thursday after rearranging some DVDs...iknow it sounds kinda silly that iwould injure myself by doing that, but it happens...as of now, i'm still feeling discomfort, but it's not as painful as it was when iwoke up and tried to get out of bed on friday morning...but ispent my friday entirely on the couch....icame downstairs and took some pills, lied down (if that's proper grammar), and watched two of my favorite films...The first was a French film that irecorded on my DVR...it's a film from 1959 called "Les Quatre Cents Coups", or translated "The 400 Blows"...it's a great film, and iwas really excited to watch it again for the first time since isaw it in my middle school french class...the second, which iwill always adore, is Breakfast at Tiffanys...yes, iknow there is a song with that title, but the movie was made WAYYYYY before the song was though of, so I WIN!!!! :)

saturday was alot like friday, in that iwas still in a huge amount of pain, and that ididnt do much...but sunday was great!!! my cousin jamie came to my house from New York with her friend from college, Jackie and my grandma, and of course my grandmother was accompanied by her dog...needless to say, my dog weezy, and her dog santi did not get along...my dog kept growling at her whenever she got too close, which is only because santi, is a strange dog to weezy, and she's never been around santi, but my dad thinks she was just protecting her own..lmfao

anyways, so ialso ended up getting CDs, iknow that is irrelevant, but ijust thought iwould mention it...my cousin Jamie and irocked out to the runaways and gossip, it was a pretty fun time, and we caught up on some of our "thug-life" lessons :) but the reason i'm excited, is because my cousin lent me Cherie Currie's memoir. "Neon Angel: A Memoir of a Runaway". i'm really excited to read this, because irecently just saw The Runaways movie, which imentioned in a past blog, but i'm soooo excited!!!!! anyways, once iread that, i'm definitely going to post a blog sharing my thoughts on the book :)

i'm also kinda bummer though...it's monday, and that's my day of the week that ifeel drags on forever....and today ihave to do the following:

1. go to the dentist b/c ihad one appointment, but it was rescheduled...i'm definitely going to get yelled at because idon't wear my retainers :( kill me now

2. go see a doctor about my back...this might not even happen, it all depends on how my back is feeling when iwake up :/

3. go train my mini me for a tournament...i'm a second degree black belt, and i'm helping afriend's daughter train for a tournament in october...hopefully i'll be able to hdemonstrate something if i'm in good shape


well, that's my blog for today....ithink might do this every monday, but i'm not quite sure yet ;)

so, today, my brother and iwent to go see Step Up 3D..he had already seen it, but ididn't see it yet, so he took me to see it. out of all of the "Step Up" movies, this was my favorite, and the cool part about this movie is that it was shot entirely in 3D. all the special effects were amazing.

now the reason that i'm posting this blog is that in the movie (and iknow this is a MAJOR spoiler), the main character, Luke (such a hottie!!! lmfao), is a dancer who is also into filmmaking, and when the movie begins, we see him interviewing different dancers, and asking them why they dance. this movie made me think about why idance. like isaid in my other dance blog, i've been dancing for 12 years, since iwas 4 1/2. it's something that i've always done, and it's what i'm always going to do. in college iwanna keep dancing. it's just something that i'll never let go of, it's my passion.

now i'm gonna answer Luke's question: why do you dance? well, idance because when ido, i'm in my element. everything feels right, my problems go away, and ijust feel free. idance because it makes me feel happy. and when you see me dance, you get to see me in my true form, & my spirit shines...and ijust feel invincible:)

ok, so now ihave a challenge for all of the dancers that might be reading this. answer Luke's question, why do you dance?
